DESCRIPTION:Summer is just around the corner\, so as your planning vacations and fun activities\, keep in mind we have our Council Night with the Lake County Dock Hounds at the end of the summer.  For those of you who are not aware\, there is a new minor league baseball team in Oconomowoc that is debuting this year.  We have partnered with them to host a Council Night.  It will be held on August 24th(Wednesday)\, game time is 6:35pm and they are playing the Milwaukee Milkmen. \n\n\n\nTickets for this event are only $15\, and we have the ability to earn some awesome rewards depending on how many tickets we sell.  If Potawatomi Area Council buys 100 tickets total\, here is what the Council will get: \n\n\n\nThrow out the first pitchPromotional table we can use for recruiting30 second commercial on the score boardPregame interviews\n\n\n\nIn addition\, they will be having mid game games on the field that we have a good chance of having Scouts and parents participate in as well as presenting the colors before the game.

First year scouts are also required to pay a $25 registration fee to Scouts BSA. We were not able to fully absorb those costs but are now giving the option to use one fundraising event scholarship to offset $25 of dues. \n\n\n\nFor those not familiar with our fundraising effort\, every fall we sell popcorn. If your son sells $350 worth of popcorn ($200 for Lions) they will receive three $25 scholarships for events or campouts. DESCRIPTION:Come enjoy scout day with the Milwaukee Admirals. \nScouts of all ages and their families can come to explore\nDiscovery World between 10am-5pm\, with special themed\nactivities beginning at 12pm. After spending the afternoon\nat Discovery World\, Scouts can head to the Admiral’s home\nlocation\, the UW Milwaukee Panther Arena\, to watch them\ntake on the Manitoba Moose. \nPricing includes: \n\nAdmission to Discovery World\nSpecial Activities at Discovery World\nTicket to the 6pm Milwaukee Admirals Hockey Game (doors open at 5pm)\n\nNOTE: Signup will be closed February 28th. DESCRIPTION:Please join us in distributing bags for our annual Scouting For Food service project. We will meet at Rose Glen at 8:30 on Saturday morning to confirm our service areas and then break out from there. The following week we will meet again to collect the filled bags\, bring them back to Rose Glen\, and sort them.\nAs this is one of most important service projects of the year we’d ask that the scouts attend one or both days of the event. If your scout has a group of friends that would like to walk together please feel free to email me in advance so that I can map out assignments.

SUMMARY:Winter Camp - Indian Mound Reservation Oconomowoc
DESCRIPTION:This year winter camp will be held at Indian Mound Scout Reservation. It is scheduled for Feb 14-16. There is a ton of really fun activities planned from Space Derby Rockets or tie-dying shirts and Magic Shows! It is not to be missed. This is an indoor camping event. DESCRIPTION:RACE DAY is on the horizon….\n\nStart your engines!!! Pinewood Derby Day has arrived! All that hardwork you have put in to creating your perfect design\, sanding and painting will pay off soon enough. There will be a number of ‘heats’ throughout the day. Each scout will race on each track\, typically 3-4 races. Family races will occur once the scout heats are complete. A championship race will be held after family races. Remember teaching our scouts to be respectful during each race\, to cheer and encourage one another! Please remember to have your Scout dress in their Class A Uniforms.\n\nTrophies for the top three in each Den. Additional Trophies will be awarded in the following categories:\n* BEST SCOUT SPIRIT\n* MOST PATRIOTIC\n* MOST UNUSUAL\n* MOST ANIMAL LIKE\n* MOST CREATIVE USE OF MATERIAL\n* MOST COLORFUL\n* MOST FOOD LIKE\n* BEST OF SHOW (CUBMASTER’S CHOICE)\n\nSCHEDULED RACE TIMES from 8 am – 3 pm. Racing heats will be held throughout the day. Tentative Race Schedule\, (please remember that the number of scouts racing and any technical difficulties may adjust the schedule): \nRound 1 at 8:45am\nRound 2 at 9:10am\nRound 3 at 9:30am\nFamily Race at 9:50\nRound 4 at 11:00am\nRound 5 at 11:20am\nRound 6 at 11:40am and end approximately at 11:50am\nGrand Champions start at 12:15pm and end approximatley at 12:45pm\nStart of awards at 12:55pm and finish approximately at 1:10pm\n\nEach scout races multiple times\, please do not leave\, as your scout may miss their race time. A schedule of racing will be provided the day of race for you to follow along.\nPlease keep in mind\, this is NOT A DROP OFF event. Adult supervision is required at this Scouting Event.\n\nCONCESSIONS will be served throughout the day. Drinks\, snacks and lunch.
