Here is the Cubmaster Minute I delivered to our Arrow of Light scouts as they crossed over to Troop 4 tonight…

Scouts, tonight we stand at the edge of a bridge—a symbol of transition, growth, and new beginnings. Think about what a bridge truly represents. It’s not just a way to get from one place to another; it’s a connection between where you’ve been and where you’re going.
The pilings and supports beneath the bridge represent the people who have helped you along the way—your parents, leaders, and fellow Scouts—guiding you, encouraging you, and ensuring that you are ready for what lies ahead. Without that support, the bridge would not stand strong.
The beams and planks of the bridge remind us of the skills you’ve learned—how to lead, how to work as a team, how to live by the Scout Oath and Law. They are the strong foundation that will carry you forward, even when the path seems uncertain.
And now, you face the other side. You may not know exactly what awaits you, but that’s the beauty of adventure. New challenges, new lessons, and new opportunities to grow as a Scout and as a person.
So as you take that step across, do so with confidence. Trust in what you’ve learned, lean on those who support you, and embrace the journey ahead. Because on the other side of the bridge, the next great adventure is waiting for you.
Good luck, Scouts. Keep moving forward.
