Pack 63 Look Ahead – December, January, February

We have tried to cut back on the number of announcements during the Pack meetings but it feels like that has come at the expense of communicating information (glad to take any feedback on the changes in format for our Pack meetings).

December

Pack Meeting

December will have our Pack Meeting on Tuesday December 13th. It will feature our annual PIES IN THE FACE for scouts that sold at least $300 of popcorn. This is always a hit with the kids. Due to feedback about the format of our Auction fundraising events, we have decided to give this a year off. We still wanted to be able to contribute to Rose Glen families in need around the holidays, so we will have a new fundraising opportunity.

  • Scouts or their parents may donate $15 for an EXTRA pie in the face of a leader.
  • Leaders may donate $15 to have a pie DIVERTED to another leader.
  • We will set up a payment page on the website to accept payment or you can pay with cash the night of the Pack meeting.

Ingleside Country Christmas and Swim Outing

Our swim outing is set for Friday December 16th. Please meet between 5:15 and 5:30 in the lot just to the right of the entrance. We will first proceed through the lights at 5:30 and then have cookies and cocoa before heading into the swim park. If you have any questions on the day off, please call or text Amanda Kerznar at 262-470-5690. Inside the pool area, we will meet in the back right corner near the hot tub as long as the area is free. Food is available at the concession stand. Just a reminder, scouting events are alcohol-free.

January

January kicks off with our Carnival pack meeting on January 10th.

Pinewood Derby

January 12th and 13th will be Pinewood Derby weigh-in nights at Rose Glen and then January 14th will be our Pinewood Derby. Joe Ribbich is still looking for staffing for the concession stand and other race-day operations. We need people to help with the computer software, help organize in the “pits” where we get the cars ready, and will need help with setup and tear down. Please let Joe know how you can help.

We have a FAMILY RACE available for parents, sibling and grandparents. Please feel free to purchase an additional car for this race run between our qualifiers and the Grand Champion’s Bracket.

Monster Jam

The Pack will be attending Monster Jam again as an optional outing on Saturday January 21st at 1:00PM. There will be an opportunity to get down on the track with the cars in advance of the event with the Pit Pass at 10:30. Watch for a signup soon.

February

Blue and Gold

Our February Pack Meeting is our annual Blue and Gold Banquet and will be held Friday Feb 10. We will have a catered dinner and the entire family is invited. Watch for an RSVP soon. We promise it will be cheaper than a night out for the family and will be a great occasion to celebrate Scouting and see our outbound Scouts and Leaders off.

Winter Camp

Our Winter Cabin Camp will be held February 17-19 at Camp Long Lake in the Rotary Cabin. This is a great time for games, crafts, science and food. If you have a special activity that you would be willing to run, please reach out to me.
